There are two types of accounts that need to be set
up in order for your Windows 2000 Professional to join the ESERVICES
domain: a user account and a computer account. The user account is your UVA computing ID;
you would not be able to access any machines on the network without
it. The computer account is
different think of it as a membership card for the domain you
are trying to join. If your workstation does not have a computer
account in the Eservices domain, you will not be able to access any
of the domains resources.
ITC Micro Systems handles the creation of user and
computer accounts for the Eservices domain. To request these accounts,
please send an e-mail message to:
itc-microsystems@virginia.edu.
