Orientations
Your LSP or departmental contact will coordinate the installation
of the Premium Desktop and provide you with an orientation to your Premium
Desktop NT 4.0 or 2000 workstation. The Windows NT or 2000 Orientation
is a brief (15 minute) session designed to acquaint you with the new features
of your Premium Desktop, such as:
- Login procedure;
- Ability to lockdown the workstation;
- Password protected screen saver.
For additional help getting started with your Premium Desktop workstation,
please obtain a copy of the "Getting Started"
document which can be viewed or downloaded from the web: http://premium.itc.virginia.edu/desktop/gettingstarted.html.
Demonstrations
The Premium Desktop includes Microsoft Office 2000, the latest office
software suite. ITC has developed a brief demonstration for the benefit
of departmental staff and faculty to acquaint them with the features of
Office 2000. If your department has an LSP, your LSP will schedule and
provide a demonstration for your department. Departments without an LSP
may make arrangements for a demonstration by contacting the Premium Desktop
Services team by email at itc-microsystems@virginia.edu.
ITC Training Workshops
The regular ITC Training
Workshops schedule will include Office 2000 and other new software
versions included on Premium Desktop machines, beginning in mid to late
Spring 2000.
